Use this checklist to make sure you’re ready for an Investment Panel review to advance from Run to Fly. The acceptance criteria for Fly is a launchable solution.
- [ ] V1 Solution - I have a working version of the solution that customers could start using and get value from. I have taken direct customer/user feedback to iterate on the solution and improve on the initial version(s).
- [ ] GTM Strategy & Plan - I have a thorough plan for how I will reach my market (starting with my corner piece segment), and I have all of the pieces in place to start executing on the plan. I have at least the minimum elements in place (website, content, prospect communication channels, etc.).
- [ ] Pricing & Business Model - I know my economic buyer, how much they are willing to pay, and how often. From my research, I have developed a clear pricing model and I am ready to start accepting payment for the solution. I understand my venture’s expenses, and how they align with key milestones (launch, expansion, etc.). For nonprofits, I know the funding sources that I will be seeking support from, and have some evidence that I can receive it.
- [ ] 12 Month Roadmap - I have set the venture’s priorities for the next 12. This includes a prioritized roadmap for enhancing the product/solution (features), GTM initiatives, team expansion, etc.
- [ ] Risk Mitigation Plan - I have identified any major obstacles that the venture needs to overcome to be successful. This includes IP, technical, regulatory, market, manufacturing, and other risks. I have assessed their potential impact and developed action roadmap for mitigation.
- [ ] Financial projections & Funding Plan - I have 3-year projections for revenue, costs, and profits, and can explain how I arrived at those projections. I know the venture’s cash needs and have a plan for securing funding to provide a cash runway of at least 12 months.
- [ ] Impact (for social impact teams) - I can describe the impact (outcomes) my solution will have, and how you that will be measured.
Once you can check all of these items, create a presentation that you can deliver in ten minutes or less that clearly and thoroughly communicates all the information. You’ll need to upload the presentation with your application (though you’re free to keep refining it before the actual pitch).
