As you develop your idea on the solution that would address the customers’ unmet needs, its features, and its business model, you want to validate your idea with customers without putting in a large amount of time, work, and cash into creating an actual product and try to sell it without knowing how the customers think about your idea and whether they want to buy it.

There are many ways you can validate your solution ideas, ranging from interviews to prototypes (and there are many ways to make low/no cost, easy to put-together prototypes). Check out “Testing with Humans” and Stanford d.school’s “Bootcamp Bootleg” and “Experiment Strategies” in the Resources Folder, as well as the Lean Startup book to learn more.
